    Default Massa in coma

Did anyone see Saturdays qualifying when Massa was hit in the face by a lose spring from Rubans Brawn?

From what they were saying on Sunday it didn't seem too bad but today it seems it was a lot worse. He’s now been through surgery for a fractured skull and put into an induced coma. Looks like he'll be out for the rest of the season.

Man this guy has no luck. Let’s hope he gets better soon.

Do you think MJ will come out of retirement and take Massas place?

Well done to LH for the win.

It actually looks like it could be even worse than that for the poor guy mate, they're now saying that he could possibly loose his sight in his eye and that'd end his career automatically. Hope that's just media scare mungering though..

Horrific accident, and I immediately feared the worst after what happened to Henry Surtees the weekend before.

Good to see the McLaren's back on form, it does look like the season is going to see a few different winners this year for a change afterall.

Apparently MS might be back, Ferrari are open to the idea and despite what Willi Weber has said MS would be happy to consider it, although he did suffer a neck and back injury earlier in the year following a motorcycle crash at a test day so he might not be fully race fit.

I was never really an MS fan during hs racing days as I always followed Damon, but I've seen a different side to him since he retired, and would like to see him back. Can't see Kimi being too impressed though.

I think that was the fear at first Mat, but according to reports on Hungarian radio he has been able to open his eye a little today and apparently has normal vision. Hopefully this is true.

He is now talking to family and friends who are with him though, so this is encouraging. And his doctors are saying that he could be walking out of hospital in ten days.

Even if his sight is ok thgou, a head injury of this nature may mean that his F1 career is over anyway due to the high G forces involved. At the very least I'm sure he will have a long recuperation, and I'm sure that even as fit as he is, getting in an F1 car won't be the first thing on his mind.

    Get well soon Felipe.

  4. Thanks.

I think it would be great to see Lewis and MS side by side. I don't think anyone else would dare stand in MS way.

I don't think this is a good thing at all. Shui is a consultant to the team - they have testers and some other young drivers - there should be a rule in F1 that prevents someone with his level of experience entering late in the race.

It might make for an intersting race with Hamilton, but if Ferrari were to win a lot of races on te back of Shui driving again, this would not be good at all.

Silly argument, nobody can race if they are any good?

Anyway, its the car that matters more than the driver, its been proven this season, once and for all. Ferrari have a winning car now but don't assume Schumacher is a God.

I'm like Ian I'm not a big MS fan at all but i can't wait to see Lewis - World champion, Jenson - Potential World champion and Mika - Ex World champion all go head to head.

The pressure must really be on Mika though, imagine if MS out qualifies him!

Not if he helps ferrari win then.. nope..

Got to agree with you a bit there though, it certainly has seemed this season that the races have been won by the best engineered cars through each part of the season. Even Hamilton winning again has just shown how behind they're car was to Braun's at the start of the season and how much they've had to catch up to get on par again.

Don't agree - you have a team with your subs/back up drivers (hasn't it happened before where a test driver had to race when Schui broke his legs - they didn't call in an 'outsider' - they used other drivers from the team!!! - does that mean that if your subs aren't up to scratch you can call in someone from outside the team - Schui is a consultant to Ferrari, not a team member - there is a rather big difference I think.
