    Default Loud action, quiet dialogue

Hope this is the right sec for my post

I’m not sure if The Dark knight on BD is known for quiet dialogue and loud action, but for me it’s the only disc I’ve had trouble with. After initially tweaking my system I had raised the centre speaker lvl a notch, after which I hardly needed to touch the vol. But with The Dark Knight I’ve had vol on 22 for dialogue, and 15 for action. An annoying problem I used to get with most SD DVD’s.

I tried turning the centre speaker lvl up from +1 to +8 and that seems to have sorted it. Now master vol can be left on 15 with dialogue clear and action not too overpowering. Not a bad compromise when watching this film.
Anyone else found this problem with their films?

Biggest bone of contention in my house when watching a movie. My wife asks me to turn the volume up when people are talking and turn the volume down when the action cuts in.

Its a real pain and I really need to take further time to do what you have done and amend the centre speaker and such.

It seems to have more or less done the trick for me. Shame really, but that’s the way it seems to be with some films. One of the worst I’ve heard is Heat, I had to put the subtitles on at first lol
