    Default Are Amazon Correct.

Hope this is ok and it's just a word of warning, also Muad'Dib you may want to contact Amazon for clarification. Anyway bought a laptop rucsack bag from Amazon not through here (sorry) in april and it's going faulty. ie the stiching is coming out of one of the main straps. Anyway phoned Amazon today to get it replaced and they told me it was not covered as it was not a bit of electronic equipment so was not covered by any gurantee and his system would not let him do anything else. When I told him they sold it to me under UK Law and there is a 1 year manufacturers warrenty, he asked me to hold then came back and told me again it was not covered but ofered the advice that I should take it to a bag shop and have them fix it. And again said it was not Amazons policy to replace it, I then told him that I was not interested in their policy only the fact that they where legally obliged under UK law to replace the now faulty item and mentioned the distance selling regs. He puts me on hold again then comes back with a speical one time offer only for me, a replacement bag. Now am i right or amazon as I am sure you do get a standard 1 year manufacturer guarantee with anything you buy. Also if I was not as forceful in my dealings with them as some might they would have been getting away without holding up to their end of the contract with me and how often must that happen. your thoughts please.

I do also think you are right

BUT, sometimes i think we are digging our own graves with buying on the net... We want the best Products, at the best price, with the best cover...... I think at times, with some items you just have to take the gamble that things will go wrong an returns will not be simple... The likes of amazon will have to try and avoid these returns where possible to save on costs - i'm sure of it !!!
