I think like a fair number of folk my choice of going LCD (back in 2007) was down to the added benefits of having decent flexibility in placement. The majority of DLP machines at the low end were longer throw pj's with poor vertical/horizontal lens adjustment. Going LCD for myself mean't I could get a screen 110" for not much more than 3m away and I could have my pj mounted in the corner of my room whilst still throw a picture centrally across my wall. Certainly back in 2007 there wasn't a hope in hell of a DLP machine for less than a grand being able to do anything like that.

I always had Lcd pjs, but the inherent problem with dust blobs made me change to lcos.

After the problems you've had Waltie I don't blame you. I've been very lucky with Dust blobs so far (touch wood). i guess that's another blessing of these new LED units, being sealed displays dust should become a thing of the past.

DILA (JVC HD350). Unlikely to change for while as I'm really happy with the black levels of this PJ compared to the previous LCD AExxxx models I had.

    Single chip DLP here.

And very happy with it I am as well.

Would I change it? Yep, I wouldn't say no a three chipper, but alas that will only happen if Mr Camelot decides to make a significant donation towards it....

Hi Ian, yes I'm on PH and on another AV site. No work on the RS lately though....getting into projector season as it's warmer indoors.

SXRD at present as you know, I am STILL unlikely to change until there is a Major change, to something like LED, but who knows, Time and Demo's will tell

For what I see, Led brought DLP back to life.

    Hi

I have a old school Dila projector
    A JVC DLA G150HT

I must admit I quite happy with it. It's a bit on the noisy side and the black levels could be better. But it does throw a very filmic image
