    Default Dust Covers

Probably a silly question - but does anyone know any 'one size fits all' dust covers for Projectors?

If so where can I buy one from?

    Cheers!

You're taking your avatar too literally!

I appreciate that would work - but I'd like summat that looked the part as well!

Can't believe that it seems as if you can't get a dust cover for a PJ....

    How is it mounted?

I just use a tea towel at the moment as mine is on a tripod, but I'm not sure what I'll do when I finally get a ceiling mounted PJ.

You used to be able to buy dust covers for printers and other office equipment, so you may be able to trace something along these lines that does the job (had them for my Amiga, monitor and Star dot-matrix printer all those years ago), but they might not be so common now that electronics are deemed to be more disposable.

    Yeah it's weird.

Dust is supposed to be one of the PJ's worst enemies - but you can't buy dust covers for 'em!

They are just designed to sit on the top, but you could probably cut it so that it can go round the ceiling mount and then fix it with some velcro.

No problem Drongo, us Yorkshire folk are very resourceful. Maybe I could buy 100 and sell them as custom projector covers with a 500% markup, I'm sure they'll improve black levels.

How often do you clean the filter? Mine's supposed to be done every 100 hours, but I probably do it closer the the 50 hour mark.

    Ooops, missed this post

It will be for a shelf mounted PJ.

You used to buy dust covers for all manner of a/v stuff yonks ago - nowadays such things have vanished into oblivion.
