Panasonic TX-42G10B TV HDMI v1.4 Compatible

Hello i have got a Hello i have got a Panasonic TX-42G10B TV, and i have just purchased the Onkyo HT-S5305 Surround sound package, (which is great),it is capable of delivering Audio from the TV via HDMI, but i need to know before i get a HDMI 1.4 cable that my TV is compatible with HDMI 1.4?

I have got a HDMI 1.3 Version cable and cant get Audio transfer with it.

may I ask why you are wanting a 1.4 ver. HDMI?

as I understand 1.4 is for 3d capabilities

Do you need to assign the Onkyo`s audio out to HDMI as welll, usually you`ll find the setting in the Onk`s menu, it could be that default is optical or component.

Yeah i have tried that, i thought that v1.4 was for 3d but it says on here its used for 3d and audio return?
