Default Need help choosing a receiver for first home cinema =)

Hi guys, as you can probably tell I'm new to the home cinema world, and I'm just speccing out my first ever home cinema build - so far I have chosen the Optoma hd200x projector, and a panoview screen that comes half price with it, and I have some speakers lined up - Samsung HT-TZ225, and this is where i've hit a bump. I need a decent receiver for all my stuff, but I have no idea which one to pick, in all honesty I have no idea what a receiver does =) I need it to be in the sub £200 mark, and would like to connect my PC, Upscaling dvd player which comes with the Samsung HT-TZ225, and a ps3 slim - as far as i'm aware these are all hdmi, and I assume the speakers are connected through optical or something? I may be completely wrong about all this, does my video stuff even connect through the receiver? my projector will have dual hdmi input. obvs you can see im very new to this stuff, a bit of background info and advice wouldn't go amiss along with some ideas for a choice receiver as I said, the receiver could really do with being sub £200, but I do need to save money cos this is all coming out of my £30 a week job plus Christmas and birthday moneys =)

For that sort of price it would probably have to be something like an Onkyo 307.

This would connect to the PS3 via HDMI which is superior than optical as you'll get TrueHD and DTS-MA decoding.

That wud be interesting, but there are a few things - one is that I'm not buying till sometime after christmas, and second, I heard that the 576 had issues with surround sound? I dunno ^_^

How many HDMI Ins and outs does the 306 have, You may need a HDMI Splitter ??

Also will you be going to TV as well as Projector ??

If I had your choice I would certainly go for the 576 off Al.. he's a Big Tart so it really is pampered and would be 'As New' Condition
